Initiate and lead the review of school policies to support the engagement and full participation of students with disability and ensure compliance with legislative and/or system policies.
HA and Lead teacher Librarians work co-operatively with classroom teachers and other specialists staff to ensure that the library resources are equally accessible to all students with special needs. They research and make available current guidelines, policies and legislation as they relate to students with disabilities. Through careful selection and promotion of resources and teacher reference material they support teachers and parents / caregivers in relation to the specific disabilities present in the individual school context. They work as part of a collaborative team to ensure that all students with disabilities receive consistent, ongoing support of the highest quality.
